Rhys celebrated his 50th game for the Cobra’s on Saturday 28 April. He played an absolutely awesome game in which he tackled brilliantly and kicked one goal.
Rhys started Auskick as a 6 year old and did this for 2 years before joining the Logan Cobras in 2004 playing in the Under 8’s. He has progressed through the years and is now playing in the Under 11s.
Our first home game of the season and the boys again tried hard all game and everyone at the game would have been impressed with the way our boys tackled and harassed the opposition. While we managed to put together some good passages of play, we need to work on our leading for the ball and also our passing and helping out our teammates when they are in trouble. If we keep working hard at training and listening it will all come together, and we will be able to match it with any team.
Congratulations to Hayden Sym who Captained the side superbly in his 50th game, and big thanks to Cathy Cameron who handled the first aide, Rhys & Wade Thomas who shared the goal umpiring and Todd Bone for time keeping.
In our first game of the season the team showed great determination and skill to match it with an equally determined Alexandra Hills team. The boys applied great pressure to the opposition and also showed great skill with some very good marking and kicking. Our first game players, Adam, Dylan, James, Jayden Balm and Jayden Bombardier all showed they will be great players for us this season while our experienced players Jason, Alec, Hayden, Steven, Travis, Blake, Mitchell and Daniel all continued on from last season and produced some great play during the game.
Congratulations to our Captain Blake Rhodes who played his 50th game for the Cobras and played a superb captains game and a big thanks to Joshua Balm who handled the goal umpiring duties.
