Loyal Cobra plays 150th game

Congratulations to Mark Marsay who plays his 150th game for the Logan Cobras this week-end.

Mark played his first game for the club in 2000, his 50th game in 2003 and his 100th game in 2005. From his early days at the club Mark regularly played above his age group and quickly gathered a reputation for his strong, reliable style of footy. He has played at both ends of the ground with equal success and during his stint as a key defender in the under 12’s Mark earned the nick-name “The Rock” for his solid defensive work in repelling many opposition attacks.

Mark puts 100% effort into every game he plays and in more recent seasons he has demonstrated natural leadership through the way he trains and plays plus the vocal encouragement he provides to his teammates. Now in his eighth season with the Cobras, Mark enjoyed premiership success in 2006 as a key forward in the under 14’s team and, although still eligible for under 14’s in 2007, Mark chose to stick with his premiership teammates and join them in the under 16’s this season.

A great effort Mark. Be proud of your achievement and we look forward to you playing your 200th game.

Jed King reaches 150 game milestone.

This week-ends Under 16’s game marks the 150th occasion that Jed King has proudly pulled on the Cobras jersey to represent the Logan Cobras Junior AFC.

Jed started with the Cobras back in 1999 as a 6 year old, playing under 8’s. From game one Jed displayed natural athletic ability, a high skill level……and a healthy mischievous streak! More »

NATHAN BENNETT 50 GAMES

Nathan Bennett 50 Games

Nathan Bennett started playing at the Cobras in 2005 after coming through the club’s Auskick program. Many times during his first season Nathan would take his jumper off at half time, head for the play ground and not return until the lollipops were being handed out after the game. In his second season Nathan enjoyed playing footy with his friends and he really made an effort to improve his skills, so much so that he was rewarded with the “most Improved” award at the end of the season. This year Nathan has continued to enjoy his footy and he regularly plays two games each week as well as running water and training with the under 11’s. During this season Nathan has also played a half time Auskick game at the Gabba and also at Carrara during the Kangaroo V Adelaide game. Nathan is a Brisbane Lions supporter whose favourite player is Michael Rischitelli and he would like to play in the AFL for West Coast, Brisbane or the Kangaroos. Keep enjoying your footy Nathan and we hope to see you playing for the Cobras for many years to come.

100 games for Tim

Congratulations to Tim Dudkowski on reaching the 100 club games milestone this week-end.

Tim first played for the Cobras in 2002 as an Under 10 and quickly developed a reputation for his competitive spirit and courageous play. Now in his sixth season at the club Tim puts 100% effort into every game and always provides a contest with both his tackling and attack on the footy proving to be a constant source of inspiration for his teammates and to those watching.

Tim’s team work ethic and ‘footy smarts’ played a large part in his Under 14’s team premiership success in 2006. Now in his first season in Under 16’s Tim is still putting his body on the line and makes opponents earn every possession.

Well done on reaching 100 games in the Cobra colours Tim.

Christopher Cover 50 Games

In 2004 at the age of 5, coming through the Auskick program for the second time, he decided he wanted to play a real game of football. In the first half of the season I think he spent more time pulling out grass than looking at the game but by the end of the season he was starting to get the idea and there as been no stopping him since.

100 Games Milestone

Jason Bennett first played for the Cobras in 2002 after coming through the Auskick program and deciding he wanted to play with the big boys. In his first season he was probably more interested in the playground than the football but he stuck at it and worked on his skills.

During his second season in 2003 he was awarded the “Most Consistent” trophy. After another season of under 8’s he stepped up to under 9’s where he again proved to be a consistent performer and a valuable team member for the next two seasons.

Jason Bennett 100 Games

Jason is currently a member of our under 10’s side and earlier in the season he played a “little league” game at the Gabba and he was excited to kick a goal for his team. Jason is a Brisbane lions supporter whose favorite player is Simon Black and he would like to play in the AFL for any team except Collingwood.

Keep working on your game Jason and we hope you keep enjoying your football at the Cobras.

Rhys Murdoch 50 Games

Rhys 50 gamesRhys celebrated his 50th game for the Cobra’s on Saturday 28 April. He played an absolutely awesome game in which he tackled brilliantly and kicked one goal.
Rhys started Auskick as a 6 year old and did this for 2 years before joining the Logan Cobras in 2004 playing in the Under 8’s. He has progressed through the years and is now playing in the Under 11s.
